Introduction

Right now, almost every motorcycle, car and truck in California runs on gasoline. Gas comes from petroleum, a fossil fuel with a limited supply that will one day run out. Gasoline also impacts the air with breathe and contributes to climate change.

For many reasons, it’s important that people find alternatives to gasoline. Automotive and energy companies are working on several different alternatives, including natural gas, ethanol, biodiesel and electricity. The organizations that form the California Fuel Cell Partnership believe that hydrogen in a fuel cell vehicle is the ultimate solution for petroleum dependency, air quality and climate change.
