Internship Opportunity
The California Fuel Cell Partnership (www.cafcp.org) is seeking an intern to assist in implementing a document management system for an internal web site. The internship is projected to end in late December.
CaFCP is a collaborative working towards the commercialization of fuel cell vehicles powered by hydrogen. CaFCP has 34 member organizations that participate in meetings, project teams and special programs. In addition, CaFCP staff implement and carry out projects on behalf of the members. All work products, reports and documentation is published to a password-protected web site, Member Resources. Most documents are published in PDF format.
Currently, hundreds of documents reside on a web server, not categorized or indexed. Managing the documents has become difficult, and people are having a hard time finding what they seek. CaFCP wants to implement a document management system and then restructure Member Resources around that system.
Under the guidance of the CaFCP’s Communications Director and working with CaFCP staff, the intern will review and evaluate document management systems and make a recommendation for purchase. The intern will then assist in setting up the system and work with the web designer to create a new Member Resources site.
The intern will interface with CaFCP staff and CaFCP members. The intern must be enrolled in computer programming or science classes, and must be able to work in Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) environment. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and AJAX is a plus. Prior experience or knowledge of document management systems is desirable.
